Skill in judo can only be attained on the mat, working with partners in an organised training programme under the guidance of
a qualified instructor, or sensei, which literally means one who has gone before. A sensei has been in your position and learned
the lessons you seek. By providing a good example and demonstrating proper technique, a sensei helps you understand the techniques
and acts as a model by which to gauge your own performance.
Judo is many things to different people - it is a sport, an art, a discipline, a recreational activity, a fitness programme,
a form of self defence and a way of life. First step in judo is to enter our Dojo (Foulden village hall). Any age or fitness level, we will
slowly guide you through your first steps as a judoka in this most widely practiced martial art in the world.
SEE YOU ON THE MAT
